"Anchored in the Lord" (2009)

In the summer of 2009, Evangelion Chorale made its seventh biennial trip to Ukraine, bringing the unique hope of music to people perservering through crushing economic hardship and the cultural aftermath of communism.  This CD is a recording of the music featured on that tour, captured live at our Homecoming Concert in Benson Great Hall on July 16, 2009.

Our tour took us to concert venues and churches throughout Ukraine and culminated in a final concert at the National Conservatory of Music located on Kiev's famed Independance Square.

Without exception, the joy of every tour is our interaction with the Ukrainian people.  Our mission is both to the Christ-followers with whom we share a common faith and to those who come to hear us simply because they love music.

To the church we bring encouragement.  This time, for instance, young people from local congregations joined us for after-concert visits at two venues and sang with us and for us with great enthusiasm!  For the secular public, among whom we also count many friends, our prayer is that the truth of the gospel — expressed in the lyrics of our music and the witness of our singers begins to break down barriers to faith, built up through generations.  As God gives us opportunity, we will continue to pursue this mission.
