My husband, Ken, and I have know Denny and Nola Port for many years.

We were so delighted when Denny asked us to be part of Evangelion Chorale and we both eagerly said we would love to do it.  We have already had several wonderful trips to Ukraine and are eagerly anticipating seeing old friends and making new ones this summer.

I was born and raised in the upper Midwest - Iowa and Minnesota.  My father was a college philosophy professor and taught at several Iowa and Minnesota colleges during my growing up years.  He ended up at Augsburg College in Minneapolis and so did I.  I graduated from Augsburg with a BA in Elementary Education and Music and then taught grades 3-4 and music in Zimmerman, MN. I gave up teaching when our daughters were young so I could stay home with them and now teach piano lessons several days a week. I also sing in our church choir and in a women's community choir which performs at nursing homes and senior citizen events, play bells in our adult bell choir at church and play flute in a local community band.

My husband and I have known each other since we were young children together in Forest City, Iowa.  We went to Augsburg together and have been married now for nearly 36 years.  We have two adult daughters - Erin and Sarah, one son-in-law, Jake (married to Sarah) and three grandchildren, Connor (10),  Annika (8) and Hannah (6).  Sarah and her family live in a little town southern Minnesota about a 90 minute drive  from our home.  Erin is a substitute teacher at a school for deaf children in St. Paul and will be with us on the trip this summer. Ken is a physician and hospital administrator at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.  We have lived in downtown St. Paul for the past 5 years and love the urban lifestyle.

My hobbies and interests include reading, cross stitching, knitting, traveling, going to the movies, bike riding, spending time at our lake cabin and going for long walks along the river outside our home.  The thing I like best, however, is spending time with our wonderful grandchildren - they are our pride and joy!

The picture I added to this is of me, my husband, Ken, and our three grandchildren taken last Christmas.  Sorry, I do not have a "head shot"
of just me. I am usually the picture taker and so am not in very many family pictures!
